And then there are days like this. Rough, raw, real chunks of horrifying, inescapable dark. Times when no amount of strength or support is enough to overpower the sheer pain of realizing just exactly how bad things are.
These are the times when it comes down to your own stubborn perseverance. At the end of the day, only you can make the decision not to cash it in, and simply making that decision, no matter what it feels like, is what sets you apart as a survivor.
Ideally, we are here to do much more than to just survive, but if that is all that is possible at the moment then it is most certainly enough.
You are not alone.
All over this earth, there are others who are also crying out on the inside inside with that same long, low scream that never goes away. So many others. Don’t you ever dare feel alone. You’re totally not. So reach out. Grab onto someone else and say something encouraging. I mean, maybe don’t literally grab onto them, because you might get arrested, but do something for someone else who needs help.
Sometimes the best way to get your mind off your own pain is to help someone else with theirs.
